 Module (3) - Designing and Develop Competency Based Curriculum

This unit is titled 'Design and Develop a Competency Based Curriculum.' This unit is meant to develop competencies in designing a competency based curriculum. It begins by reflecting on the philosophy of competency based education and training and its relevance to the Jamaican education system. It then goes on to examine the features that define competency based education and training and applies these to the development of modules of instruction that make up a competency based curriculum. The designed modules incorporate employability skills, related content, instructional strategies and assessment methodologies. The unit is applicable to instructional designers, occupational standard designers, trainers, instructors, teachers, facilitators and managers who work within the TVET system.
